Armia had three shots on net and three hits while finishing minus-2 over 16:19 of ice time in Thursday's 4-0 loss to Carolina.
Montreal interim head coach Martin St. Louis altered the lineup, moving Armia to the top line alongside Nick Suzuki and Cole Caufield. The move is seen as a surprise, but the coach is looking for the right combination. Josh Anderson worked with the two young guns early but has since gone cold. Mike Hoffman had a one-game tryout on the top line in Tuesday's 7-4 loss to Florida before Thursday's move. Armia did have a streak of five points in five games during a stretch earlier in March, but the 28-year-old forward was back to being unproductive for the three games since, which increased to four straight contests Thursday.
