CHEYENNE, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - Andrew Johnson graduated from Cheyenne Central High School in 2021 and soon after fulfilled his lifelong of becoming a Wyoming Cowboy football player.

Johnson redshirted his freshman year and he said he is going to get better in Year 2.

“Every part of my game can improve, it will improve and that just takes time and repetition,” said Johnson. “So that comes back to the competing part and competing every day against all these other really great dudes and athletes. You’re going to just grow naturally as it is.”

The two-time Wyoming High School Football All-Stater said he has the Strength Team, especially Coach Eric Donoval, to thank for pushing him to get stronger.

“In the weight room, it’s not just adding a couple pounds here and there,” said Johnson. “I mean, I am up 40, 50 pounds in certain lifts, even higher in other lifts. That’s really helping and then on the field, I could get in the numbers but that’s a whole other thing. [I’m] visually faster and I can actually see that on the field. "
