Wahlstrom has only lit the lamp once in his last 12 games.
Of course, this is a concern for the Islanders, as Wahlstrom is considered the team's best young goal scorer. It's also concerning that this drought has hit Wahlstrom since he's been placed on a line with Mathew Barzal, who himself has wrinkled the twine in 15 games entering their contest versus the Blue Jackets on Thursday. Coach Barry Trotz has placed both of these players on the third line and seems hesitant to break up his top two units, so this duo may have to figure out how to work with each other in order to be successful.
