After a standout freshman year at Georgetown, one of the best players in southwest Missouri basketball history is declaring for the NBA Draft.

Former Greenwood star Aminu Mohammed will declare for the 2022 NBA Draft, according to a report by Stockrisers' Jake Weingarten. Mohammed's guardian re-shared the news on his personal social media account.

Mohammed just completed a freshman season in which he was unanimously chosen to the Big East's All-Freshman team.  He started all 31 games for the Hoyas and averaged 13.7 points and 8.2 rebounds per game.

Mohammed's name has appeared on numerous NBA Draft mocks and big boards by national media outlets since he was in high school. He's praised for the same high motor that he displayed as a five-star recruit in the Ozarks.

Georgetown Hoyas guard Aminu Mohammed (0) celebrate with Georgetown Hoyas forward Collin Holloway (23) during the Big East Conference game against the Butler Bulldogs, Saturday, Jan. 29, 2022, at Hinkle Fieldhouse in Indianapolis.

The report said that Mohammed is "100 percent committed to the pre-draft process" while also leaving the door open to return to Georgetown. By entering the draft, he will get feedback from numerous coaches and scouts to best decide his future moving forward.

In three seasons in Springfield, Mohammed put together one of the greatest resumes the area has ever seen. He was named the 2021 Missouri Gatorade Player of the Year and was selected to the McDonald's All-American Game.

During his senior year, he averaged 23.3 points and 10 rebounds per game. He led Greenwood to a state championship during his sophomore season.

He concluded his prep career with 3,219 points and 1,478 rebounds.
