In District 4, formerly Edgehill, Robert A. Thigpen and Joe L. Dixon qualified.

Candidates also qualified for seats across Jefferson County.

The City of Stapleton has cancelled the special election scheduled for May 24 as only John Legander III qualified.

In the Jefferson County commission election. Gonice Davis, District 1 commissioner, qualified for that seat with no opposition. However, in District 3, Commissioner Wayne Davis qualified to run for reelection but has a challenger in Aurthur Wilcher.

The Jefferson County Board of Education had three seats available, the chairman, currently held by Jimmy Fleming; District 1, currently held by Farlyn Hudson; and, District 3, currently held by Steve Norton. These three will retain their seats as each qualified with no opposition.
