There's been a debate about whether or not long or short nails will rule 2022 — although ultimately at the end of the day, do what works best for you. Lately, however, we've noticed that celebs who typically wear long manicures, including Rihanna, Kim Kardashian, and even Cardi B, are going the short route. There are some stars who have consistently been loyal members of Team Short Nails, namely former Disney Channel star Tia Mowry-Hardrict. It's her latest manicure that has caught our eye because she gave the traditional French mani a cotton-candy-colored, geometric twist.

On March 30, she shared the short pastel manicure in an Instagram photo dump featuring the last ten photos in her camera roll, which she notes in the caption. The first photo shows Mowry-Hardrict with chunky braids and smiling with her mother, who has long gray cornrows. But if you swipe to the sixth photo, you can see her full nailfie in all its glory. These square-shaped nails have a light pink base common with most traditional French manicures, but that's where the similarities end. Instead of the traditional C-curve tip, these nails have V-shaped tips formed by four lines. Each tip uses a different combination of either light blue, baby pink, pastel yellow, lavender, or white for a multicolored manicure.

This is far from the first time that the former Sister, Sister star has had creative fun with her manicures. For instance, right in time for Valentine's Day, she got a bright-red negative space manicure with a heart cutout right in the middle. At the beginning of March, she was spotted with a silver-tipped French manicure with a half-moon in the same color at the base of the nails. She's a great example of how short nails don't have to be basic at all.
