Joseph Neal Cimilucca, 70, of Syracuse, died March 21 in North Carolina following a brief illness.
He was born in the Lewis Park neighborhood on Syracuse’s Far West Side. He graduate from Corcoran High School, according to his obituary.
Following a tradition set by his father, Cimilluca worked for the International Brotherhood of Teamsters, Local 317.
One position he held was as a project superintendent for Qualis Corp, where he supervised construction projects throughout the United States. In his career, he also worked at Warren Brothers and Nine Mile Unit 2 nuclear plant.
Cimilluca also owned a construction company that did work throughout New York and Florida.
He was a dedicated Bears fan who loved football and sports. His love of football led him to coach Pop Warner football for the Westvale Knights for many years.
Cimilluca also enjoyed fixing things, basking in the sun, fishing, and spending time with his family and animals, his obituary said. He loved and appreciated good music and always had music playing.
One friend had this to say on his obituary page: “Joe was a great guy and someone who stood up for what he believed in.”
Another wrote: “I was a friend and union brother to Joe… I will remember and value our times working together…”
A celebration of life is planned for this summer at the family farm in Fulton.
