Police In Bethpage And Levittown Searching For Violent Robbers

Police are investigating two violent attempted robberies that injured two men on Long Island.

The robbery attempts took place in Nassau County on Wednesday, March 30 in both Bethpage and Levittown.

The first incident began around 9:30 a.m. when two men approached a 28-year-old man in the parking lot of TD Bank in Bethpage and requested to use his cell phone or charger, detectives said.

When the victim refused, one man struck him in the left eye and tried to remove him from his vehicle, police said.

The victim remained in his car and was struck multiple times. The two men fled and the victim was transported to an area hospital for treatment, police said.

A short time later at 10:10 a.m., two men matching the description from the first assault, approached a 67-year-old man in the area of Best Buy in Levittown, police said.

The men asked the victim for money and when he complied they demanded more. When the man was unable to produce additional money, he was punched in the face causing a laceration to his cheek before being thrown to the ground, police said.

The victim was transported to an area hospital for treatment and evaluation. 

Both men fled the scene in an unknown direction.

The first suspect is described as being Black, in his 20s, with a medium build. He was wearing a dark-colored hooded sweatshirt, dark pants, carrying a black/white backpack, and wearing black/red shoes, police said.

The second suspect is described as being Black, in his 20s, with a large build. He was wearing a dark-colored hoodie, light blue jeans, and dark-colored a male black, approximately 20-years old, with a

large build. He was wearing a dark-colored hooded sweatshirt, light blue jeans, and dark sneakers.
