Bae Suzy Dating Rumor: Former miss A Member Once Seen at a Restaurant With an Actor

Back in October 2013, the Korean media outlet Sports Seoul reported that miss A Suzy was seen with a male actor at a Japanese restaurant in the ritzy neighborhood of Cheongdam-dong, Seoul. This male actor was named Sung Joon.

Sports Seoul also said that the two celebrities looked close and were wearing comfortable outfits. The media added that the actor placed his arm around her shoulders while the female idol was holding his hand.

Along with this dating news is a video, which served as the "evidence." The clip shows the actor casually placing his arms around the actress.

This report instantly sparked a dating rumor between Bae Suzy and Sung Joon. This rumor quickly reached the stars' respective agencies, which then released official statements regarding it.

miss A's company, JYP Entertainment, denied such a claim. A rep explained that Suzy and Sung Joon were not the only ones at the restaurant, but also Lee Seung Gi, Lee Yoo Bi, and other staff from MBC's drama "Gu Family Book."

Both Sung Joon and miss A Suzy starred in "Gu Family Book." While the miss A member took the role of a martial arts instructor (named Dam Yeo Wool) at her father's school, the male celebrity played the role of Bae's bodyguard (named Gon). The TV series aired from April to June 2013.

The actor's management label also disproved Sung Joon's dating rumor with Bae Suzy. They said that the two stars were originally close.

"We heard that after 'Gu Family Book' ended, they have been meeting with their friends often. However, we know that the two are definitely not dating," the agency continued.

In November 2013, miss A Suzy sat down for an interview with Korean news outlet Newsen and addressed the rumor she was dating the actor. She stressed that she and Sung Joon hang out often because they are close, and nothing else.

Sung Joon also talked about the matter in January 2014. During a press conference for "I Need Romance 3," the actor also emphasized that he and Suzy are not dating.

He also revealed that he was criticized a lot because of his dating news. He said that he initially thought it wasn't a bit deal, but then his name became the No. 1 most-searched term online.

Bae Suzy's Current Relationship Status and Ideal Type

As of this writing, no reports of former miss A Suzy being in a relationship have been published. Also, mo rumors about her dating someone made rounds online. Hence, it can be assumed that the idol-turned-actress is currently single.

About Bae Suzy's ideal type, she once revealed during the fifth episode of "Off the Record, Suzy" back in 2017. She said that she initially likes a person who is sexy and even named Ian Somerhalder as an example.

However, she seemed to have changed her ideal type. She said, "But I like someone like Choo Sung Hoon nowadays. [I like] a guy who's really built and looks like he'll appear on UFC. I like a guy who can protect me."

It is uncertain whether former miss A Suzy has a new ideal type of man today.
