(Los Angeles, CA) — A convicted murderer and former follower of Charles Manson is being denied parole once again. California’s Board of Parole recommended Leslie Van Houten for parole for the fifth time in as many years. She was found guilty in 1971 of participating in the deaths of grocery market executive Leno Labianca and his wife Rosemary as a part of the Manson cult and received a death sentence. California Governor Gavin Newsom on Tuesday blocked the parole, saying Van Houten “currently poses an unreasonable danger to society.”
