Gordon (groin/rest) has been ruled out for the rest of the season, Jonathan Feigen of the Houston Chronicle reports.

Gordon was slated to miss his third straight game Wednesday -- one due to rest and the following two due to a groin issue -- and an update like this appeared imminent with only two weeks remaining in the regular season. The 33-year-old finished the campaign averaging 13.4 points, 2.7 assists and 2.0 rebounds in 29.3 minutes across 57 appearances. Houston also ruled out fellow veterans Dennis Schroder (shoulder) and Christian Wood (hamstring) for the season as well. In their absences, the Rockets' youthful reserves -- led by Alperen Sengun (leg), Garrison Mathews and Josh Christopher -- will likely all get plenty of looks during the remainder of the season.
