The NHL's most penalized team lived up to that billing Tuesday at Bridgestone Arena.

Fortunately for the Nashville Predators, goalie Juuse Saros was up to the task. Michael McCarron was too.

The Nashville Predators committed three penalties in the first five minutes, including one on Tanner Jeannot that led to a 5-on-3 for the Ottawa Senators during a 4-1 victory for the home team, thanks to 35 saves by Saros and two goal from McCarron.

The visitors' Brady Tkachuk made good seven seconds into that advantage in the first period, marking the fifth consecutive game the Nashville Predators allowed the first goal.

The Predators turned the tables on their fourth of five penalties during the period when McCarron tied the score with a shorthanded goal with 38.9 seconds left in the first, the team's second such goal of the season.

McCarron's second goal of the game gave the Predators their first lead with 1:46 remaining in the second.

The Senators' Connor Brown was awarded a penalty shot with seven seconds left in the second after Roman Josi was called for an infraction, but Saros denied the attempt.

Jeannot scored his rookie-leading 23rd goal of the season to make it 3-1 with 9:53 remaining in the third.

Josi's 13-game point streak came to an end, leaving him one short of tying the franchise record.

The Predators are 28-0-1 when leading after two periods this season.

Matt Duchene's empty-net goal iced the victory, his 35th of the season.

The Predators are 39-24-4. The Senators are 23-37-6.
