Clark County Sheriff Joe Lombardo was heckled and followed by someone after an event in Las Vegas on Monday.
The moment, captured on video and posted to social media, apparently came following a Nevada Independent speaker event held at The Smith Center.
In the video, a man stands next to Lombardo, one of several Republicans running for governor, and calls him a "real piece of s***."
Lombardo walks away from the man, who follows him through the venue and accuses him of "pretending you're not putting undocumented in prison."
The man continues to call Lombardo names and asks "Where's your Nazi uniform?"
This incident comes a month after Nevada Gov. Steve Sisolak, a Democrat, was accosted while at a Las Vegas restaurant with his wife and daughter.
In the video from that incident, Justin Andersch tells Sisolak "We should string you up on a lamppost right now." The governor later announced he would not press charges against Andersch.
"It's important that when we disagree we don't forget we are all Nevadans first," Sisolak tweeted from his personal account Tuesday. "Name calling and vitriol have no place in Nevada and I condemn this rhetoric in the strongest terms. Let's lead with kindness."
Nevada GOP Chairman Michael McDonald also condemned Monday's incident with Lombardo, echoing comments he made in February regarding the incident with Sisolak.
"Like I said when this happened to Governor Sisolak last month, there is no place for the unhinged behavior Sheriff Joe Lombardo experienced last night, and the time and place to have your voice heard is at the ballot box in November," McDonald said in a statement. "I know in my heart that these recent attacks on our officials are outliers. This is not the Nevada we all love and I join with leaders across the political spectrum in condemning this behavior and calling on it to never happen again."
A spokesperson for Lombardo's gubernatorial campaign did not immediately respond to messages seeking comment.
