It's a sad week for Holby City fans as the BBC series bows out after 23 years on air.

Ahead of tonight's (March 29) final episode, star Rosie Marcel – who has played Jac Naylor on the show since 2005 – has shared a couple of pictures with co-stars Bob Barrett (Sacha Levy) and Paul Bradley (Elliot Hope) on set to mark the occasion.

"These are a few of my favourite things…. Well peeps. Does that work?? The gorgeous Bob who will always be my dearest friend," she said. "The incredible @ptjb for just being him and that means being incredibly supportive and loving."

Rosie also posted an amusing video from set in which she details a recipe for Jo Martin (Max McGerry), before Alex Walkinshaw (Fletch) wanders across and pokes fun.

Paying tribute to him on the show by admitting she "couldn't have done it without him", the actress then clarified: "Last video was to @msjomartin. I was detailing a recipe created by @valetta86 my cousin for her Christmas dinner and getting it wrong. You can tell by Alex's face that I'd been going on for some time!!"

Rosie added: "I'll be dumping a lot of holby pictures for the next few days/weeks on here. I'll also be sharing details of our big holby raffle with @thepackprojectuk soon! Hope you all enjoy tonight. @bbcholbycity #finalepisode #goodbye #holbycity".

Of course, fans are still unclear over Jac's fate in the final episode following her surgery this week, with all set to be revealed.

Ahead of the finale, a number of past Holby stars have said goodbye to the show in an emotional video, including Ben Hull (Derwood Thompson) and Camilla Arfwedson (Zosia Self).

Holby City airs on Tuesdays on BBC One and streams on BBC iPlayer.
