Potter County's Luikens , Aberdeen Christian's Weiker are first-team All-State selections

Aberdeen Central's Sam Rohlfs (10) was selected to the Class AA All-State boys basketball team.

Six local players have been named to the South Dakota All-State boys basketball teams.

In Class B, both Grant Luikens of Potter County and Malek Wieker of Aberdeen Christian were chosen for the first team. Last season, Wieker was a member of the second team and Luikens the third team.

For the Battlers, Luikens, a senior, led the scoring attack, averaging 21.5 points per game to go along with 7.9 rebounds and three assists. He helped lead Potter County to a fourth-place finish at the State B tournament.

Wieker, a junior, helped Aberdeen Christian to a seventh-place finish at the state tournament. He averaged 17.8 points per game, 5.3 rebounds and 4.5 assists.

Ethan Russell of Aberdeen Christian was on the Class B second team. He averaged 14.7 points and 9.1 rebounds per game as a junior.

Potter County's Cooper Logan was also a second-team selection, averaging 19.3 points and 6.8 rebounds per game.

Damon Opdahl a junior from Waubay/Summit who averaged 17.1 points, 7.8 rebounds and five assists per game, was also named to the second team. The Mustangs finished fifth at the state tournament.

In Class AA, Sam Rohlfs, a senior at  Aberdeen Central, was a second-team selection. He finished the season averaging 12.2 points, 5.6 rebounds and 3.6 assists per game. Rohlfs was a member of the All-Eastern South Dakota Conference team and has committed to South Dakota State University where he'll be a member of the track and field team.
