Portland announced Monday that Simons will miss the remainder of the 2021-22 season due to patellar tendinopathy in his left knee.

In addition to Simons, Jusuf Nurkic (foot) and Eric Bledsoe (Achilles) have also been shut down for what's left of the season. It's an unceremonious end to the campaign for Simons, who stepped into a larger role with Damian Lillard (abdomen) missing extensive time and CJ McCollum getting shipped to New Orleans at the deadline. The 2018 first-round pick will close his fourth NBA season with averages of 17.3 points, 3.9 assists, 3.1 three-pointers and 2.6 rebounds per game. He's on pace to lead the Blazers in total points, three-pointers and assists for the season.
