GLENDALE, ARIZONA ---Arizona Coyotes forward Phil Kessel is playing in his 965th consecutive NHL game tonight against the Winnipeg Jets at Canada Life Centre. He has surpassed Doug Jarvis for second place on the NHL's all-time consecutive games played list.

The 34-year-old forward trails only former Coyotes defenseman Keith Yandle of the Philadelphia Flyers who has played in 987 consecutive games.
The 6-foot, 223-pound Kessel has registered 7-32-39 with 26 penalty minutes (PIM) in 64 games with the Coyotes this season.
The Madison, WI native has totaled 398-545-943with 358 PIM in 1,186 career NHL games with the Coyotes, Pittsburgh Penguins and Toronto Maple Leafs. He began his consecutive games played streak on Nov. 3, 2009.
