Johnsson (illness) will not play Sunday against Montreal, Amanda Stein of the Devils' official site reports.
Johnsson has 30 points in 60 games this season but just four assists over the last 14 contests. The 27-year-old should have enough time to get healthy before Thursday's tilt with Boston. Johnsson's absence Sunday will clear a spot for Miles Wood (hip) to make his season debut.
