Celtic were handed a huge blow when Kyogo Furuhashi suffered an injury in the last game before the winter break. The Japanese star was not believed to be 100 per cent at that time anyway, although, the initial belief was that it was not a very serious problem and he would be back in action after the winter break. As it turns out, it has now been months since he was forced off the pitch and has not been back since.

It does look like the Celtic star might be closing in on a return to the pitch soon though, which would come as a gigantic boost for the Hoops as they aim win back the Premiership title this season from the Rangers.

But the big question is, will Kyogo be in the same kind of form when he returns to the pitch eventually? The Japanese star was one of the best players in the Scottish game before he was sidelined in December.

Amidst all this, some worries have been raised about Kyogo’s situation and it might be a while before we see his best again. As reported by Football Insider, medical expert Ben Dinnery said:

"“He has spent over three months on the sidelines. It will take a while before he gets to pre-injury levels in terms of sharpness and match fitness.“It may be that we don’t see Kyogo hitting those pre-injury levels this season.“It might just be an opportunity to get some minutes in his legs and test that hamstring.“But ultimately, we won’t see a fully fit Kyogo back in that Celtic team until pre-season.”"

Celtic got a Kyogo worry heading into the business end of the season

It is safe to say that Kyogo is a very, very important member of this team. But, they have done very well even in his absence.

It would have been very easy to crumble down at that point of time but it went in the opposite direction.

It appears to have solidified the team even further and they have been grinding out one result after the other, even when they are not at their best.

On the other hand, let’s wait and see what the future holds for Kyogo. Hopefully, he can return and start producing the goods as soon as possible.
