EASTPOINTE, Mich. (WWJ) - One 63-year-old woman and her 57-year-old brother are dead after a shooter open fired in what police are calling "a domestic dispute" in Macomb County Friday evening.

Authorities were first dispatched to the 15000 block of Veronica Avenue just before 7:30 p.m. Police could be seen taping off a section of road with yellow crime tape while detectives investigated the scene near Gratiot and Toepfer.

Police confirmed the shooting, but would not release additional information about the victims or the circumstances of the incident.

Local 4 has reported that the deceased woman had two daughters, one of which who had an ex-boyfriend; according to Local 4, police believed the domestic incident occurred when the "angry" ex-boyfriend came to the house Friday night and became upset when he found the daughter wasn't home.

The ex-boyfriend then shot her mother and her uncle, authorities told to Local 4.

Police said in a social media post that the two victims were hit with multiple gunshots and died inside the residence; the suspected shooter fled the scene before police arrived, prompting a search effort on behalf of Eastpointe Police and the FBI Violent Crimes Task Force.

Eastpointe Police said in a post to social media around 8:30 a.m. Saturday morning that detectives, FBI agents and troopers from the Ohio State Police apprehended the suspect and his father in connection with the fatal shooting in Bowling Green, Ohio,

Local 4 said the alleged shooter was identified as 30-year-old Jerel Leon McCrary; police said the suspect's father was also arrested for being an accessory after the fact.

"...more details will be released at a later time," authorities said on social media. "Our most sincere condolences go out to the victims and their families."

Authorities have asked for the community's help as they piece together this crime. Anyone with information should call the Eastpointe police or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-Speak Up (1-800-773-2587).

As always, those who call Crime Stoppers will remain 100% anonymous.
