Wahlstrom wrinkled the twine as the Islanders defeated the Red Wings 6-1 on Thursday.
The goal was the 12th of the season for Wahlstrom to go along with 10 assists in 56 games. The Islanders will expect more from Wahlstrom next season as coach Barry Trotz has constantly been tutoring him before, during, and after practice. Wahlstrom sometimes feels the wrath of Trotz when his defensive play is lacking, but the future is still bright for the young sniper, and the Isles will hope they have a future 25+ goal scorer on their hands.
