Ant-Man star David Dastmalchian has confirmed he won't be reprising his role as Kurt Goreshter in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania.
Dastmalchian appeared in the first two Ant-Man films as Kurt, a thief-turned-security consultant and one of Ant-Man's (Paul Rudd) closest friends.
However, sadly for fans of the character, it appears that Ant-Man doesn't have any time for socialising in the upcoming sequel.
Dastmalchian revealed his character's fate during an interview on the red carpet for the premiere of Marvel's forthcoming Moon Knight series.
When asked whether he had been asked to return for the sequel, Dastmalchian told reporters (via Screen Rant): "It doesn't look like it... But that's okay.
"I know they're making something incredible. I can't wait to see what Peyton [Reed] does next. He's one of my favourite directors... He's been so busy. I have tried to stay in touch, but he's making an incredible film right now."
While Dastmalchian may not be returning, the same can't be said for Michael Douglas and Michelle Pfeiffer who will be reprising their roles as Hank Pym and Janet van Dyne respectively.
As expected with a Marvel film, details regarding the plot of Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania are currently scarce. Production began in November in London. However, filming is reportedly yet to be fully completed.
One thing fans do know, however, is that Jonathan Majors will star as the film's main antagonist, Kang the Conqueror.
Meanwhile, Ghostbusters actor Bill Murray will also be playing a yet-to-be-identified villain in the upcoming sequel.
Murray surprised Marvel fans when he casually let slip during a chat on The Eli Manning Show in December that he would be appearing in the movie.
Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania is set to be released in cinemas on July 28, 2023.
