Deichmann was optioned to Triple-A Iowa on Friday.
Deichmann was fighting for a bench spot at best and won't win one to open the year. He grabbed just four hits while striking out 14 times in 31 plate appearances in his brief debut last season but posted a .274/.388/.435 line at the Triple-A level.
