Creekside defender Brenna Robinson (24) celebrates during the Knights' victory over Cypress Bay in the Class 7A girls soccer championship. The senior defender was named Florida Dairy Farmers Miss Soccer.

The Miss Soccer title is coming to St. Johns County.

Capping a historic championship season at Creekside, senior defender Brenna Robinson won the Florida Dairy Farmers Miss Soccer award on Friday, while Creekside head coach Joe Soto received the state's girls soccer coach of the year award in a tied vote with Amy Geltz of Bishop Moore.

Fletcher and St. Johns Country Day also recorded top-five finishes in the statewide balloting.

Robinson becomes the first Miss Soccer winner in St. Johns County history, and the first for Northeast Florida as a whole since St. Johns Country Day midfielder Abbey Newton won the award in 2018 while leading the Spartans to their seventh consecutive championship.

The senior defender, who doubled as Creekside's primary set-play specialist, set up 12 goals on the season while commanding the central defense for the Knights on the way to their first-ever Florida High School Athletic Association championship in Class 7A.

She's staying on the First Coast beyond high school, after signing to play college soccer at the University of North Florida.

Robinson placed first in a tight statewide vote, ahead of St. Johns Country Day forward Julia Boaventura, North Fort Myers forward Michelle Horan, Lakeland Christian goalkeeper Breanna Newberg, Fletcher forward Sarah Christiansen and American Heritage midfielder Avery Thompson. Only 12 points in the voting separated the first four candidates.

Jill Ford of Orange Park (1995) and Carson Pickett of St. Johns Country Day (2012) are the area's other previous Miss Soccer selections.

Soto, meanwhile, is the third consecutive Coach of the Year winner from St. Johns County after leading the Knights to a 19-3-1 record and the state title. Bartram Trail's Jen Rodriguez won the award in 2020, followed by Ponte Vedra's Dave Silverberg in 2021.

Both Soto and Geltz finished with 85 points in the balloting, the first-ever tie vote for Florida Dairy Farmers coach of the year.

Additional girls soccer coach of the year honorees from Northeast Florida were Frank Adsit (Bolles, 1995), Rod Kenney (Orange Park, 1996), Mike Pickett (St. Johns Country Day, 2012, 2017 and 2018) and Matt Tracy (Bolles, 2015).

Fletcher's Bradley Plummer finished third in the voting, with St. Johns Country Day's Pickett in fourth.
