Many thanks to Thom McCombs for his response to my letter. Allow me to say, what I had wrote had a track line. What you wrote resembled a ping pong ball gone awry.

Among what you claim, at the end of World War II, the United States conquered the world. Hmmm, after a moment’s reflection, how is that? The United States and its allies stopped and toppled three dictators — one from Austria, one from Italy and another from Japan. Two more monstrous dictators and their sidekicks remained. Those two — and their sidekicks — have since passed away.

It seemed that communism had died, although its near relative, socialism, not only survived but has taken control and direction of the Democratic political machine of this country. Lo and behold, communism itself has returned and is in a death rattle surge to re-establish itself.

And what has the United States and its allies done while Ukraine is being pounded to oblivion? Economic sanctions and verbal condemnations are of what worth?

When East Germany was isolated (1948) by the Soviet forces, President Harry Truman did not hesitate to assist with the Berline Airlift.  – That is what is needed now in Ukraine. All of NATO and any country that could offer more than verbiage should unite and arrive in Ukraine and assist the beleaguered Ukrainians. For that not to happen is to give Putin and company the confidence to continue.

Despite the incompetence of the Russian military, Ukraine is to be conquered by the Moscow forces. Once this is done, what is next?

A recent news article reported: China has militarized three fabricated Spratly islands — Mischief Reef, Subi Reef and Fiery Cross despite Chinese President Xi Ping’s past assurance that those man-made islands would not be militarized.

Read the editorials in the Philippine newspapers. The Philippines cannot rely on the assistance of the United States when the Chinese military arrives — unannounced — to take over their country, or any country from the Red Sea to the Marianas. That China is to remain neutral in this soon-to-be global conflict is the supposition of mindlessness.

That you claim that I am “one who is quite happy to know nothing,” has been noted.
