March 22's Winds Cause Multiple Power Pole Damage In Hansford and Surrounding Counties

North Plains Electric Co-op reported multiple poles and lines down in multiple areas through-out their system.
Approximately 20-25 distribution poles were down and 6 transmission poles. The issues were in Hansford, Ochiltree, Lipscomb and Hemphill counties and widespread.
Also reported was a breaker offline west of Gruver affecting several members.
Crews were out working and NPEC called in extra help from a contract crew that knew the system.
One of the bigger issues was the mud. Everything requires heavy equipment and that slows everything down when battling mud.
"Our other crews are spread through-out the system and will continue working as long as is safely possible."
