Cordell Memorial Hospital is excited to bring the Washita County Health Fair to you this spring. On March 31 through April 2 there will be many events at the hospital and at the Washita County Activity Center. The events will help you start healthy habits, teach you some healthy cooking demonstrations and have fun for the whole family.

There will be activities for the kids in Washita County that start this week with the art and poetry competition with schools in the county, Cordell, Canute, Burns Flat/ Dill City and Sentinel. The prizes will be announced and awarded on Saturday April 2 at the Washita County Activity Center.

The whole family can participate in the Family Fun Walk/Run on Friday April 1 at 5 pm, Let’s Get Washita Moving Free Family Fun Walk/Run!

Health screening, resources and more are available throughout the 2 ½ days. The screenings will be at CMH on Thursday morning and Friday morning. There will be testing to determine pre-diabetic status and help to keep from becoming full diabetic. The Health Department will be available at CMH to provide vaccine, flu and COVID for those who have yet to receive their vaccine.

It is planned to make this an annual event as part of the Western Oklahoma Wellness Consortium. This is funded by a rural health outreach grant led by Oklahoma Foundation for Medical Quality. CMH is happy to be the primary sponsor of the event and continue improving the health of Washita County for many years in our future.

For your health and wellness,

Melinda
