The Las Vegas Raiders have already added a couple of wide receivers in free agency, including trading for former Green Bay Packers star Davante Adams, but Vegas isn't done adding wideouts just yet. On Tuesday, ESPN's Adam Schefter reported that former Kansas City Chiefs receiver Demarcus Robinson had agreed to a one-year deal with the Raiders.
Originally drafted by Kansas City in the fourth round of the 2016 NFL Draft out of Florida, Robinson has spent his entire career with the Chiefs. In 2021, he tied a career-high with 10 starts, and caught 25 passes for 264 yards and three touchdowns. One of his best seasons came during the Chiefs' Super Bowl run in 2019, when Robinson caught 32 passes for 449 yards and four touchdowns. Robinson's best game, interestingly enough, came against the Raiders in 2019, as he caught six passes for 172 yards and two touchdowns in the 28-10 victory in Week 2.
The Chiefs long had an opening at their "No. 2 receiver" spot, and Robinson was among the candidates Kansas City tried out at the position. However, the Chiefs never got the results they wanted, and allowed Byron Pringle and now Robinson to walk in free agency while upgrading with JuJu Smith-Schuster, formerly of the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Robinson, who is 27, has been a reserve wideout for most of his career, and figures to back up Hunter Renfrow, Bryan Edwards and Adams in Vegas.
