Ellis (lower body) will not return during the 2021-22 campaign, Charlie O'Connor of The Athletic reports.
Ellis looked great to begin his first season as a Flyer, racking up five points while averaging 22:48 of ice time through four games before suffering the season-ending injury. The team is still weighing options regarding his treatment but, without a playoff spot to compete for, they're opting to play it on the cautious side. Another update on his status should be available once the Flyers make their decision on a possible surgery.
