The Philadelphia Flyers announced today they have acquired a fourth-round pick in the 2023 NHL Entry Draft from the Edmonton Oilers in exchange for forward Derick Brassard, according to President of Hockey Operations & General Manager, Chuck Fletcher. Philadelphia Flyers retain 50% of Brassard's salary.

Brassard, 34 (9/22/87), departs the Flyers after part of one season with the team. He recorded 16 points (6g-10a) and a +6 rating in 31 games and missed 31 games due to injury. He signed a free agent contract to join the Flyers on Aug. 25 for one year at $825,000 Average Annual Value.

The pick now gives the Flyers nine total selections in the 2023 NHL Entry Draft, which includes six picks through the first four rounds. Earlier today, the Flyers acquired the New York Rangers third-round pick in 2023 in exchange for defenseman Justin Braun, while on Saturday the Flyers received the Florida Panthers third-round pick in 2023 in a trade that featured Claude Giroux.
