Ellie Kemper Is Selling Her Lavish Home In NYC

Ellie Kemper is selling her Upper West Side co-op for $3.5 million. She's known as the star of "Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt" on Netflix and for her role in later seasons of "The Office." Kemper's second-floor co-op is a renovated, pre-war building with three bedrooms and three bathrooms. According to New York Post, she originally bought the unit for $2.8 million in 2016 with her husband Michael Koman, a comedian and television writer.

Her home is designed traditionally, keeping the home's original moldings, built-ins, and hardwood floors. It's located in a 13-floor cooperative building with a semi-private elevator vestibule for Kemper's unit and a full-time doorman. Maria Manuche, Kemper's realtor on Compass, who shares the listing with Clare Cukier, expressed that Kemper bought the home because of its distinctive architectural grace and location. Although, it's the renovations that Kemper and Koman did while owning the home that makes it so desirable.

Kemper's traditional style home

The home features 10-foot-high ceilings, pastel-toned walls, and herringbone hardwood floors. There are enlarged bay windows throughout the home that look out to townhouse gardens and Japanese maple trees. Along with period crown moldings, there is white wainscoting along the lower half of the walls. The eat-in kitchen is filled with top-grade appliances, white custom cabinets along both walls, and granite countertops. Off the kitchen is the updated laundry room with a full electrical washer and dryer. The dining room connects the kitchen to the living room, which has a marble fireplace, according to the listing.

The master bedroom wouldn't be complete without two large closets and an en suite bathroom with a marble walk-in shower. While there are three bedrooms, the smallest bedroom could also be an office. The home is filled with built-ins, but since Kemper renovated the home, it also has through-the-wall air conditioning and new double-pane thermal windows.
