VILLAGE OF OAK CREEK – Upon arriving back in Arizona on Saturday after a district work week, Congressman Tom O’Halleran (D, AZ-01) tested positive for COVID-19.

The congressman, who represents Graham and Greenlee counties as part of Arizona’s First Congressional District, is reportedly experiencing only mild symptoms.

“Today, after arriving back in Arizona for a district work week, I tested positive for COVID-19,” O’Halleran wrote in an email. “I am fully vaccinated and boosted and am only experiencing mild symptoms. I am grateful for the medical advances in vaccines and masks that have protected me.

I’ll be masked up and quarantining here in Arizona until I’m cleared to travel again. I’m grateful for all the kind well wishes and looking forward to getting back to work for Arizonans in person soon and virtually even sooner!”

O’Halleran serves as the chair of communications for the Blue Dog Caucus and has served as the AZ-01 Rep. since 2017. He recently defeated Tiffany Shed and was re-elected in 2020.
