Purdue is heading back to the Sweet 16.

Friday night, the Boilermakers used huge performances from Trevion Williams, Jaden Ivey and Zach Edey to get back to the second weekend of the NCAA Tournament, defeating Texas 81-71 in the Round of 32. It’s a nice bounce-back for the Boilermakers, who were eliminated in the opening round last season.

Matt Painter’s team was able to advance thanks to a 22-point performance from Williams, who provided a major spark off the bench. He looked like the B1G Sixth Man of the Year on Sunday night.

Purdue also got 18 points from Jaden Ivey and a double-double from Zach Edey, who finished the night with 11 points and 10 rebounds. The unsung hero was Ethan Morton, who scored 8 points but put together a tremendous defensive effort.

Now, the Boilers will head to the Sweet 16 to play No. 15 seed and Cinderella story St. Peter’s. Here’s what Painter had to say about the win over Texas and the upcoming matchup on Sunday night:
