The Chase star Mark 'The Beast' Labbett has revealed he's been dropped from the US version of the popular ITV quiz show.
Labbett had appeared on the original US edition of The Chase from 2013 to 2015 on GSN. He then joined ABC's revival of the show for its second season in 2021.
On Twitter, the show's official account announced the line-up of Chasers for its third season, with Labbett's name noticeably absent.
"New season. New Chasers," The Chase account wrote. "Victoria Groce, Brandon Blackwell, and Buzzy Cohen join Brad Rutter and James Holzhauer on May 3 when #TheChase returns."
Labbett replied to the tweet: "Gutted to not be invited back but really excited at the new lineup. Am expecting Brandon and Victoria to wow America :)."
When a fan then asked him if he wasn't on the show due to his commitments to The Chase Australia, Labbett replied: "No they just didn't renew me. No reason was offered."
Meanwhile, Labbett is currently filming new episodes of Beat the Chasers in the UK.
On Thursday (March 17), he shared a photo on Twitter alongside Shaun 'The Dark Destroyer' Wallace on the show's set, writing: "Be afraid, be very afraid :)"
The next series of Beat the Chasers unfortunately won't be featuring 'The Governess' Anne Hegerty, who revealed this week that she had tested positive for coronavirus.
"Unfortunately I've contracted Covid-19 so won't be filming this series of #BeatTheChasers," Hegerty told fans.
"The fantastic @Issa25 (Issa Schultz) will be stepping in for me and I'm looking forward to watching the series when it's on air later this year. I feel fine, but I'm still positive! (in all respects)."
Hegerty's replacement Issa Schultz ('The Supernerd') has previously appeared on The Chase Australia.
The Chase airs weekdays on ITV.
