After two years of canceled St. Patrick's day celebrations, Kelly's Tavern in Neptune celebrated in person today.
People at Kelly's were relieved to get together in person and celebrate by chowing down on some shepherd's pie and washing it down with a Guiness.
Celebrations at the bar were canceled at the start of the pandemic in 2020. Owner Kevin Kelly says they had not celebrated a traditional in-person St. Patrick's Day since 2019.
Kelly says today's crowd is a great sign of things to come for this summer down on the shore.
"We're excited that the Jersey Shore is back to normal. We have a line out front right now. I think we're heading into the biggest summer at the Jersey Shore. Everybody is excited we are back to normal," Kelly says.
Kelly's Tavern will have bagpipe players Friday from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.
