It's the first call-up for Vecchione this season, which is no doubt the result of Lars Eller (COVID-19 protocols) being unavailable against the Islanders on Tuesday. The 29-year-old Vecchione has racked up 12 goals and 24 assists in 43 games for AHL Hershey this season, which could persuade the team brass to insert him into the lineup over the likes of Axel Jonsson-Fjallby or Daniel Sprong.
