As part of the trade Monday that sent Jesse Winker and Eugenio Suárez to the Seattle Mariners, the Cincinnati Reds got Justin Dunn, Jake Fraley, Brandon Williamson and a player to be named later in return.

In Dunn, the Reds get a pitcher who made his MLB debut in 2019, and has started 25 games since. The 26-year-old right-hander has a 5-4 career record and a 3.94 ERA over that time.

Dunn had his 2021 season shortened due to a shoulder injury. He posted a 1-3 record in 11 starts with a 3.75 ERA and  49 strikeouts in 50 ⅓ innings before he was shut down for good in September.

Justin Dunn was a first-round pick of the Mets out of Boston College

A Freeport, New York native, Dunn played high school baseball at a boarding school in Connecticut before attending Boston College.

Originally used out of the bullpen, Dunn was moved to starter during his junior season. Dunn finished his junior season with a 4-2 record and 2.06 ERA with 72 strikeouts in 65 ⅔ innings.
