Verizon established its name as one of the best wireless network operators in the United States. The company is regarded to be the largest global information services firm in the world and it will not be possible without CEO Hans Vestberg.

Since Vestberg was appointed to be the tech leader in charge, the company has achieved several successes in its business. This year, it was able to deploy more advanced mobile technology, in addition to the 5G Ultra Wideband launch.

According to the United Nations Foundation, Vestberg first served as a Chairman back in March 2019. In addition, he became the Chief Technology Officer and the Global Networks President in 2017 wherein his tasks revolve around improving the company's service in fiber-optic networks.

He helped in bringing the 4G LTE network across the US and even managed to introduce the 5G capability for the customers. 

Speaking of this pre-Verizon service, he was an Ericsson CEO. Prior to this position, he worked as the company's president for six years. The Swedish CEO has helped the telecommunications company in distributing its global mobile infrastructures globally.

In 2007, he was the Chief Financial Officer under Ericsson. Two years later, he was promoted as the CEO of the same firm where he took the responsibility of leading over 115,000 employees towards providing seamless improvement in both hardware and software ventures.

From Verizon's official website, Hans also became a board member of numerous groups including the UN Foundation, BlackRock, and more. 

Towards digital evolution, he chaired the EDISON Alliance from The World Economic Forum. This particular project aims to bring more accessibility to digital technologies for the people.

Aside from that, one notable collaboration that he partook with was with Tim Cook, the CEO of Apple. At that time, Vestberg presented the first 5G iPhone on the globe.

He even joined Amazon CEO Andy Jassy for bringing the mobile edge computing network during the AWS re:Invent.

As for his educational background, he finished the degree in Bachelor of Business Administration in Sweden's University of Uppsala. 

At the moment, he's a married man and has two children. Hans is also known to be multilingual since he can speak fluent Portuguese, English, Spanish, and of course, Swedish.

Verizon's Growth Opportunity and Societal Contribution

CNBC reported earlier this month that Vestberg is pretty optimistic regarding the improvement of the company. According to the source, the Verizon CEO is eyeing a growth of at least 4% by 2024.

The tech boss also announced the official partnership that is formed with Mark Zuckerberg's Meta on their way to building a metaverse with the help of Verizon's 5G network.

Speaking of societal responsibility, the company is also helping the affected people in Ukraine. To extend a helping hand to the victims of the crisis, Verizon decided to waive all international calls, text, and other services to customers based on Ukraine, Hungary, Moldova, Poland, Romania, and Slovakia.
