X-Men Star Alexandra Shipp Wants MCU to Make Specific Change on Storm

There is little doubt that fans are already looking forward to the X-Men making their Marvel Cinematic Universe debut. However, it could also mean that the mutants will be played by completely new actors. Interestingly, this isn't a problem for Alexandra Shipp. However, the X-Men: Apocalypse actor says that the MCU should do the right thing when casting Storm this time!

Alexandra Shipp played Ororo Munroe in X-Men: Apocalypse and Dark Phoenix before 20th Century Fox was acquired by Disney. Now that the X-Men have the chance to appear in the MCU, the Straight Outta Compton star isn't expecting to be brought back to continue playing Storm. However, she does have some advice for Marvel Studios when they finally decide to recast the mutant.

"In future, I think I'd like to see a woman of darker complexion play Storm," Shipp told ComicBookMovie. "I think it's about time that we see that representation, and I'm more than happy to see that. I think it would be really great. The little girl in me would really like to see that."

She also admitted that she enjoyed playing the character in the X-Men films.

"I loved the experience. I think it was so definitive of my 20s to be part of that," Shipp said. "I'd never worked on anything so big and to also be able to play not only one of my favourite superheroes growing up, but also reprising a role Halle Berry played was a huge honour."

Shipp took over the role of Storm, a character that was originally played by Halle Berry in the first X-Men movies. Needless to say, we're also hoping that Marvel will make the right move in casting the new Ororo Munroe when the mutants finally show up in the MCU. Stay tuned for more updates on this story.
