VJ Canizaro MD Health Summit at William Carey Tradition Campus

The National Diabetes and Obesity Research Institute hosted their second annual VJ Canizaro MD Health Summit at William Carey University’s tradition campus.

The summit was an opportunity for supporters and advocates to learn more about the National Diabetes and Obesity Research Institute’s mission to prevent, improve, and cure obesity and diabetes.

Topics include the future state of a healthier Mississippi, diabetes management and its renal complications, physician culinary prescription writing, and an update on surgical weight loss. NDORI Executive Director Dr. Stephen Farrow said, “What we wanted to do and have done is actually bring people from disparate backgrounds together to actually have a conversation on what may work best today in controlling these disorders and how to coordinate this together.”

The National Diabetes and Obesity Research Institute at Tradition was founded in 2014 to address the diabetes and obesity crisis in Mississippi.
