Dick Vitale 'impressed' by Vanderbilt basketball, Jerry Stackhouse during upset of Alabama

ESPN broadcaster Dick Vitale has been sidelined from broadcasting most of this season as he battles cancer, but Vitale is still watching basketball games.
He tuned in for Thursday's SEC Tournament second-round game between Vanderbilt and Alabama, and the Vanderbilt team plus head coach Jerry Stackhouse "impressed" the basketball hall of famer.
Vanderbilt defeated Alabama 82-76.
Vanderbilt advanced to face Kentucky in an SEC Tournament quarterfinal at 7:30 p.m. CT/8:30 p.m. ET on Friday.
ESPN's Dick Vitale praises Jerry Stackhouse doing 'fantastic job'
Vitale tweeted immediately after the game, "What a fantastic job @jerrystackhouse has done @VandyMBB as they advance in @SEC tourney with victory vs @AlabamaMBB 82-76. This has been one of the toughest jobs in the power conferences. He has impressed the VBDI (vitale bald dome index)."
The Vanderbilt men's basketball official Twitter account responded to Vitale's tweet with a prayer emoji.
No. 11-seeded Vanderbilt improved to 17-15 overall. No. 6 seed Alabama went to 19-13 overall.
