NORTH KINGSTOWN, R.I. (WLNE)- Representative Julie A. Casimiro has announced Brooke Thompson as the winner of the North Kingstown High School, ‘Representative for a Day’ contest.

A senior at the high school, Brooke wrote an essay about her dreams of becoming a lawyer with the experiences she’s had throughout her life. She plans on going to college for political science with a pre-law track after graduating this year.

She will now have the opportunity to work alongside Representative Casimiro and see what being a legislator encompasses.

“Brooke is the epitome of a dedicated and hard-working student doing everything in her power to attain her dream. Her essay submission inspired me greatly and I know she has great things in store for her in the coming years. This contest is an excellent way for our students to become involved with their government and it is going to be a pleasure showing Brooke all the work that happens in the State House,” said Representative Casimiro.
