William David “Dave” Payne II

William David “Dave” Payne, II, age 42, a resident of Foley, Alabama, passed away Saturday, Mar. 5, 2022.

Dave loved God and accepted Jesus Christ as his personal savior when he was young.  He served in the US Army during the War on Terror after Sept. 11, 2001. Dave was an avid fisherman, always looking for that big fish. He loved animals and being in God’s beautiful outdoors. He discovered his God given musical ability at a young age and enjoyed sharing his gift playing the piano and other instruments even through adulthood.

Dave was a loving father and devoted son, and he will be greatly missed by all of his family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Vernor Payne and Joe and Joyce Cook; aunts, Lesa Cook and Joyce Henley. 

Left to cherish his memory are his parents, David and Pam Payne, Foley, AL; son, Mason Alexander Payne, Philadelphia, MS; daughter, Raelyn Pamela Payne, Troy, MI; sister, Jennifer Ann (Scott) Snell, Kimberly, ID; grandmother, Jean Payne, Columbus, GA; aunt, Karen (Ernest) Payne Ponder, Dahlonega, GA; uncle, Douglas (Deb) Cook, Andalusia, AL; many other loving relatives and friends.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, Mar. 12, 2022, in the chapel of Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Home, Foley. Brother Jerry Peeples will officiate. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

Interment will follow at 12:30 p.m., Monday, Mar. 14, 2022, in the Alabama State Veteran's Memorial Cemetery, Spanish Fort, Alabama.

Will Cook, Doug Cook, Ernest Ponder, Davis Ponder, Steve Stephens and Gil Johnson will serve as pallbearers.
