Rodney Harrison Leaked Aaron Donald Retirement Story

The Los Angeles Rams star never saw it coming.

Former Pittsburgh Panther and current Los Angeles Rams Super Bowl champion Aaron Donald had a story about him drop just moments before kickoff of his biggest win.

Prior to kickoff of Super Bowl LVI, former NFL safety Rodney Harrison leaked a conversation he had with Donald about whether or not this could be his last season. The news of Donald's possible retirement spread quickly, but was shunned off by the All-Pro after the game.

Donald told Sports Illustrated's Gregg Bishop that he did tell Harrison prior to the game, but thought the conversation was "personal."

What did he tell him? Well, when talking about the future, Donald said to Harrison:

"Honestly, you never know. This could be my last year."

Harrison dropped the news on an NBC broadcast, and here we are.

When asked about it after the Super Bowl, Donald said "“I wouldn’t expect [Harrison] to do something like that."

The star defender isn't leaving the game of football just yet. He decided to stick around for at least another season, but that decision wasn't easy.

He opened up about it and why he so strongly considered walking away.
