As the weather starts getting warmer, This Is Us fans know that they are getting closer to the end of the popular NBC drama. Although it’s difficult to imagine how the series will conclude the Pearson family’s multigenerational story, there are still a dozen new season 6 episodes to look forward to this spring. In the meantime, actor Milo Ventimiglia already has his next project lined up after he reads Jack’s last lines on the show — and it’s quite the change.

While This Is Us season 6 was on another mini break last week, Variety reported on March 4 that ABC officially ordered a pilot for the new show The Company You Keep. Based on the Korean show My Fellow Citizens, it will star Milo as a con man named Charlie who becomes romantically involved with an undercover CIA officer. Though there’s no word yet about the actress who will be featured alongside Milo, the logline promises that it’ll be an intense drama.

“A night of passion leads to love between con-man Charlie and undercover CIA officer Emma, who are unknowingly on a collision course professionally,” it reads, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

“While Charlie ramps up the ‘family business’ so he can get out for good, Emma’s closing in on the vengeful criminal who holds Charlie’s family debts in-hand — forcing them to reckon with the lies they’ve told so they can save themselves and their families from disastrous consequences.”

The original version aired 40 episodes in 2019 and it intertwined several topics, including family, money and politics. Since the news about The Company You Keep was announced, Milo hasn’t mentioned it on social media. When he eventually does, he might mention that he'll be serving as an executive produce through his production company DiVide Pictures. What’s more, he’ll be teaming up with A Million Little Things coexecutive producer Julia Cohen, Crazy Rich Asians director Jon M. Chu, The Resident showrunner Todd Harthan and The Good Doctor coexecutive producer Lindsay Goffman.

Congrats to Milo!
