Reisch running in District 8 House race

A Miner County man has announced that he is running in the District 8 House race.

Tim Reisch of Howard said he has more than 40 years of service to the state, including serving as Miner County Sheriff, the head of the South Dakota National Guard, and as a member of the cabinet for three different governors.  He currently serves part-time as the Miner County Veterans Service Officer, operates Reisch Sales LLC, a used farm equipment business located in Howard, and helps his son raise corn and soybeans on the family farm.

Reisch joins two others who have filed nominating petitions so far for the District 8 state House race.  Incumbent Representatives Marli Wiese of Madison and John Mills of Volga, both Republicans, have filed their petitions with the Secretary of State’s Office in Pierre.

Incumbent District 8 Senator Casey Crabtree, a Republican from Madison, has also filed nominating petitions for re-election to his legislative seat.

District 8 now includes all of Lake and Kingsbury counties, along with most of Miner and Brookings counties.

According to the Secretary of State’s Office, June primary candidates need to have petitions filed by March 29th.
