Valeri, now 35, won MLS Newcomer of the Year in 2013, MLS Cup MVP in 2015 and MLS MVP in 2017, when he scored 21 goals and notched 11 assists. He earned three MLS Best XI honors, in 2013, 2014 and 2017, according to OregonLive.

During his time in Portland, Valeri led the Timbers to three MLS Cup appearances, which included a title in 2015. In 2020, MLS named Valeri to its “The 25 Greatest list,” which recognized the 25 most decorated and impactful players in league history.
