An Oak Hill man who was shot and paralyzed just over three years when uninvited guests crashed a party died on Tuesday morning. Joel Tatro, a quadriplegic following the shooting, had been confined to a bed much of the time since February 2019. Investigators say he was shot in the neck by 18-year-old James Powell who was 15 when he allegedly showed up uninvited to a party at the Tatro home and when told to leave, pulled out a gun. Powell is charged as an adult with attempted murder, though his case is still in the courts. It's unclear if the charge will be upgraded. Tatro's loved ones told WESH 2 he died this morning.
