Steve Schmidt

Steve Schmidt, 58, of Monett, passed away on Monday, Feb. 28, 2022.  
Schmidt was born on March 13, 1963 to the late Joseph Schmidt and Joyce (McCaffrey) Schmidt Tinklepaugh. He graduated from Monett High School in 1981. Schmidt married Pam (Nibert) on July 10, 1987. He was a member of St. Lawrence Catholic Parish. He was also a dedicated employee of Friend Tire Co. where he worked as a sales manager for 39 years.
Schmidt is survived by his wife, Pam, and his children Miles (Skylar) Schmidt and Madison (Abraham) Russell; two grandchildren; his mother, Joyce Tinklepaugh; his three sisters: Susan (Greg) Severs, Sharon (Craig) Kelley, Mary Jo (Dan) Reiff; his brother, John (Kara) Tinklepaugh; father- and mother-in-law, Larry and Barbara Nibert; brothers-in-law Nick (Melanie) Nibert and Doug (Tammie) Nibert; sister-in-law Tammie (David) Doss; and by 17 nieces and nephews.
Schmidt was preceded in death by his two dads, Joseph Schmidt and Larry Tinklepaugh, and his grandparents Joseph and Mary McCaffrey and Albert and Flora Schmidt.
Services were held at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Monett. Visitation was  from 5-8 p.m. on Thursday, March 3, at St. Lawrence Catholic Church, and a Funeral Mass was at 10 a.m. on Friday, March 4, at St. Lawrence Catholic Church. Interment followed at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Monett. Memorial contributions can be made payable to Good Shepherd Hospice in care of the funeral home. Arrangements are under the personal care and direction of Buchanan Funeral Home, Monett.
