NORTHBOROUGH – The Framingham State University baseball team was defeated 10-0 by Roger Williams University in non-conference action Saturday afternoon at the New England Baseball Complex. 

This was the season opener for Roger Williams which is now 1-0.

Framingham Stet drops to 0-2.

HOW IT HAPPENED:  

  • The Hawks got on the board in the top of the second with a pair of runs and added a single run in the top of the fourth on a wild pitch to lead 3-0. 
  • A sacrifice fly and a two run homer from Tommy Hobin in the top of the fifth extended the lead to 6-0. 
  • The Hawks added a three run homer in the top of the seventh by Mike Masino and an RBI double by Matt Massaro in the top of the ninth to reach the final margin.

  • Scott Nosky took the loss on the hill for the Rams going three innings allowing two runs, one earned, on four hits with two walks and five strikeouts. 
  • Justin Garcia, Connor Hewlette and Chris Flynn tossed three scoreless innings apiece for the Hawks en route the victory. 
  • Ryan Boyle and Robert Johnston collected two hits apiece for the Rams in the contest.   

UP NEXT:  The Rams are back in action on Monday when they travel to UMass Boston for a non-league game at 3 p.m., while the Hawks face Mount Union on March 11 in Florida.
